Whether you have found a new job or have received a promotion, congratulations are due! You have already made the difficult decision to move for work and now it’s time to leave the specifics of moving to the professionals at Corrigan. Our professionally trained crew has seen many employee relocation benefit packages and, since you are a corporate transferee, we will review your benefits, assess your needs and recommend service options that are within your allotted budget. At Corrigan, we believe in doing what’s right for our transferees which is the reason we make corporate relocations as easy as ABC.

What to expect when relocating for your work?

Employee benefits are unique to each company. Your Human Resources will provide you with the particulars of your relocation package and initial directions. Depending on what benefits your organization offers, you’ll be directed to a specific mover, or you may be required to find a mover independently. Either way, Corrigan’s skilled team will be there, guiding you during each stage of the move.

Your Home Survey

The cost of your move is calculated based on weight and miles of your move, a home survey is needed to determine the weight of what is being moved. For the move survey, you will show a professional moving representative throughout your home and any other buildings, discussing what will be part of your shipment. You can expect to be asked to open doors, cupboards, drawers as well as look under beds for belongings that are easily forgotten!

*Virtual home surveys have greatly become the main way of conducting a move survey for our corporate relocation transferees. All the same, in-home surveys with a personal moving consultant are still a choice.

Assessing the Quote & Honing Moving Needs

After completing your move survey, you will receive a moving estimate. Corrigan’s relocation representative will be able to explain the estimate in detail and give options for keeping costs within your allocated relocation budget.

A few things to consider when refining your moving needs to bring down the cost of your relocation:

  1. If packing was included in your estimate, you can bring down the overall cost by boxing your own items, or, limiting the amount of packing to be just the especially delicate items.
  2. Donating or selling items that you don’t actually need will bring down the weight, extend your relocation budget, and remove unused items in your new home.
  3. Are your dates flexible? If there’s flexibility in your dates and you are able to adjust your dates a little; you may see a reduced cost. Be sure to inform move consultant know if your move dates are adjustable.

Your move representative will work with you to determine a personalized relocation plan that matches your exact moving needs and remains within your given budget. Our experience working with corporate transferees gives you access to the industries’ most informed and veteran experts with an array of custom moving packages.
